Booklet Design for Body Activated Learning

Photo that was used in the Body Activated Learning 30 page booklet.

The client, Sensational Achievement, required a product logo design and a spiral bound booklet for a new educational program called Body Activated Learning. The overall design had to be colorful, convey movements, and appeal to both educators and young students. The booklets required an easy to follow format to help teachers with some exercises to support motion and body skills for children.  My approach was to use photography to illustrate the activities, color-coded sections and use of symbols throughout the book. Happy to say that the program proved to be a great success.  Below is a brief overview of the project.

Concepts:

I developed a number of ideas, all of which were well received.  It is my practice to provide as many options as possible.

Cover Design:

After a few rounds of refinement, we arrived with a final product that is colorful, convey movements, and appeal to both educators and young students. Below is the cover design used for the spiral bound booklet.  The color scheme and fonts match the clients overall brand. All the photos were taken on location with a portable studio kit.

Interior Page Design:

The interior design made good use of color-coding sections and visual aid symbols throughout the book. The design was intuitive and easy to navigate, helping both the teacher and student in following the program.

Info-graphic Graphics:

An infographic (like the one below) is a popular form of data visualization that can help you simplify a complicated subject or turn an otherwise dull subject into a captivating experience. A valuable tool for the reader. In conclusion – the booklet project included graphic design, photography, mechanical files and digital printing.  All of which was produced and managed in-house.  This valued service and over-site help to control the overall budget, turn around time and quality of work.

Info-graphic was used in key areas of the book. The charts help to information in a graphic format making the data easily understand.
